What To Do When You Need Fire Department Assistance

Due to the nature of the volunteer fire service, the station is not staffed 24 hours a day. In most cases, firefighters must first respond from their homes to the fire station upon receiving a call. Accordingly, in order to have the fire department respond for assistance, you should always contact the Cambria County 9-1-1 Center. For emergencies, ALWAYS dial 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, call 814-472-2100. With both methods, you will speak to a 9-1-1 telecommunicator that will obtain your address and the nature of your problem. After a series of appropriate questions, the fire department will be dispatched.
